Job Description
Local Manufacturing company is seeking a Direct Hire Sewing Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in Webster, MA.
Schedule: 3:30pm-12:00am
Starting Pay: $26.00-$31.00 / Hour
Sewing Maintenance Mechanic Job Duties:
- Oversee, manage, and organize the operation of various maintenance areas, equipment, and machinery across the facility, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and spare parts.
- Set work priorities for assigned areas and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of building and mechanical systems to identify maintenance needs, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with standards.
- Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine preventative maintenance on production equipment and plant facilities as required.
- Perform regular facility checks to ensure a safe environment for both the plant and its employees.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, assess their urgency, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Be familiar with emergency response protocols to ensure prompt action by staff in case of incidents, minimizing potential losses.
- Maintain log of equipment issues, initiating service requests when necessary.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support, with the ability to respond to emergencies as needed.
- Primary work location: Webster.
- Occasional work in Woodstock, CT, may be required as needed.
Sewing Maintenance Mechanic Requirements
- High school education or equivalent plus at least two years in a specialized training program
- Comprehensive knowledge of equipment used to perform job functions.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide relevant services
- Ability to communicate verbally and understand spoken instruction in English
- Ability and understanding of how to use a multimeter.
- Familiarity with Computer Maintenance Management Systems
- The ability to solve both creative and technical problems
- Diagnosis and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems
- Experience with industrial sewing equipment
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb/work at heights up to 40ft
- Must have balance and be able to bend/stoop/crawl
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
