Local Manufacturing company is seeking a knowledgeable Quilting Machine Operator to join their team in Webster, MA.
Schedule: 6:30am-3:00pm
Hourly Rate: $22.00-$24.00/hr.
Quilting Machine Operator Job Summary:
Responsible for operating and maintaining quilting machines used in the production process. This role involves ensuring the quality and efficiency of the quilting process, troubleshooting machinery issues, and collaborating with other team members to meet production goals.
Quilting Machine Operator Essential Duties:
- Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation, including loading of fabric, foam, FR backing, and quilt backing.
- Works with both panel and border cutting equipment, as well as operating Flanger sewing machine
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
- Monitors the process using meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications
- Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, panel quilting and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials.
- Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements.
- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products per specified standards.
- Verifies and measures cut panels per standard
- Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
- Responsible for threading and changing needles.
Quilting Machine Operator Skills & Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
- 3+ years’ experience operating quilting machines or other textile machinery.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Basic math skills for measuring and setting machine parameters.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand, bend, lift and/or move material for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen
