Job Description

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in West Brookfield, MA.

Rate: $75,000-$120,000 (Depending on experience)

Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday)

Job Summary: Designs, Develops and supports precision grinding machine components.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for design and project management of the mechanical aspects of precision grinder products for manufacturability at reasonable costs. This includes drafting and documenting the technic
  • al details of all products and structures as well as, specifying dimensions, materials and procedures.
  • Specify system components of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Ensure all design models, drawings and bills of material are completed per requirements.
  • Write and perform verification and validation testing of new designs.
  • Process requests for information and documentation from, contract manufacturers and vendors.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Estimate job material and engineering requirements for customer quotes
  • Provide customer support as required to assist customers in diagnosing and correcting mechanical and machine problems

Skills/Education/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Supervisory training or similar experience a plus.
  • 5 plus years working in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering function.
  • Working proficiency using 3D tools: AutoCad, Solidworks etc.
  • Thorough understanding of modern manufacturing techniques.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to reach, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, ability to stand for long periods of time, judge depth and distance, and see clearly up close
  • Valid driver’s license (Occasional travel both domestically and internationally to service customer accounts)
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
