Our client is seeking detail-oriented Maskers to join their team in West Springfield & Holyoke!

Schedule: 1st & 2nd shifts

Starting Rate: $17.00/Hr.

Masker Job Summary:

Performs the necessary process steps per customer specifications to protect specific areas on parts by masking, taping, plugging, waxing, or painting to prevent plating or stripping of those areas. Maskers are responsible for the quality of the work they perform and must ensure that all parts are handled with care to prevent damage.

Job Duties:

• Read, write, and understand process record cards in English
• Document necessary information in English
• Ability to work with a schematic drawing, outlining areas to be protected
• Basic math operations with use of a calculator
• Ensure product quality by identifying defects through detailed visual inspections and promptly notifying the supervisor of any issues.
• Perform precise and repetitive tasks requiring the use of hands, wrists, and arms.
• Safely lift and handle parts of varying sizes, ranging from several ounces to several pounds, as part of the daily workflow.
• Applying various kinds of tape to areas that need protection prior to stripping or plating
• Twisting/pulling rubber plugs into place, bolting on fixtures, snapping on caps or other devices
• Applying a coating of petroleum wax, which is built up on the part by repetitive dipping into a molten (approx. 200F) bath. A hoist is used when parts exceed 15 lbs.

Skills & Requirements:

• Must have previous manufacturing experience, masking experience preferred
• Must be physically able to complete the following tasks, lifting, tilting, and/rotating parts /twisting/pulling
• Standing 10-20% of the time, walking 10-20% of the time and sitting 70-80% of the time.
• Seeing, depth perception, and color vision required
