Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the day to day functions of their manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
Schedule: 6:30am-3:00pm
Starting Hourly Rate: $26.00-$31.00
Maintenance Mechanic Job Summary:
Responsible for directing, supervising and organizing the operation of various maintenance areas and equipment throughout the facility, ensuring all facilities are operating properly to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime. This is a hands-on position that requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
Essential Maintenance Mechanic Job Duties:
- Maintains an accurate equipment and repair parts inventory.
- Determines and arranges the work priorities of assigned areas.
- Inspects building and mechanical equipment periodically to determine the need for repairs and to ensure proper safety, efficiency of operation, and compliance with all set standards.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and conducting routine preventative maintenance on production equipment and plant facilities as directed.
- Performs the necessary rounds/checks to maintain the plant facility and employees in a safe environment.
- Troubleshoots problems with equipment to assess the nature of the problem, the urgency for the user, and initiates an appropriate response.
- Familiar with emergency response procedures to ensure the timely response of staff to prevent losses.
- Keeps record of all problems in a log, initiating service calls when appropriate.
- Subject to an on-call rotation to respond to problems during off shift hours, as well as expected to report on site in case of an emergency.
Maintenance Mechanic Skills & Requirements:
- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of equipment used to perform job functions.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide relevant services
- Ability to communicate verbally and understand spoken instruction in English
- Ability and understanding of how to use a multimeter.
- Familiarity with Computer Maintenance Management Systems
- This position may require work site travel
- Diagnosis and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems
- Experience with industrial sewing equipment is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand/walk to extended periods of time
- Ability to climb and work at heights up to 40 ft.
