Job Description
Our client is seeking qualified 2nd shift Blade Makers in Auburn, MA.
Schedule: 2:00pm to 10:00pm OR 3:00pm to 11:00pm (Monday-Friday)
*** Must be able to train on 1st shift***
Blade Maker Job Summary: Set-up and operate a variety of machines. Produce items from various types of metal and non-metal materials to blueprint, sketches and work instructions.
Pay rates: $19.18- $24.94
Essential Job Duties:
- Work independently in planning, layout, setting up and operating the blade making equipment and processes.
- Responsible for producing products within specification and applicable procedures/work instructions, drawings and quality documents.
- Perform basic machine maintenance.
- Perform all processing operations in Blade Department, including but not limited to punching, shearing, drilling, skiving, bevel grinding, flattening, routing, slitting, riveting, finishing and assembly of product.
- Pull coil stock for orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized and efficient work area.
- Fully responsible for the quality of their work.
- Work overtime as required.
Skills & Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Trade School Diploma preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the setup and operation of industrial equipment such as saws, planers, and other machinery.
- Must be familiar with precision measuring tools
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to pass criminal background check, drug screen and pre employment physical
- Experience using lifting devices for heavy, irregularly shaped objects (e.g., cranes, power lifts, and other lifting methods).
- Proficient in basic shop mathematics.
- Ability to read and interpret intermediate-level blueprints.
- Understanding of machining operation sequences and good manufacturing practices.
- Skilled in the correct use of measuring tools such as tape measures and Vernier calipers.
- Ability to control equipment to maintain consistent tolerances within ±0.125 inches.
- Manual dexterity to reach, handle, and work with small items and tools.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
