Job Description
Expert staffing is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join their team in the North Andover, Ma area!
Schedule and starting rate:
- 1st Shift:
- 4am-12:30pm M-F
- 6am-2:30pm M-F
- $21/hr.
- 2nd Shift Shift:
- 12:30pm – 9:00pm
- 2:30pm – 11:00pm
- $21.75/hr. ($.75 differential included)
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that incoming ingredients, work-in-process components, and finished products conform to company and customer requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
QA Technician must be able to harness in, ascend to the top of the truck, and inspect bulk deliveries.
- Receive incoming bulk ingredients, ensuring proper receiving procedures are followed.
- Test bulk ingredients for compliance to specification requirements.
- Collect samples and test selected incoming ingredients for compliance to specification requirements.
- Ensure that all laboratory equipment including ovens, mixers, and other testing equipment are working properly. Notify quality management of any potential or actual issues.
- Release ingredients based on compliance to specifications or other requirements.
- Perform line checks on production lines to ensure all food safety and food quality parameters are met.
- Perform quality checks on samples collected from the Bakery and Frozen/Wet Departments to ensure all performance and organoleptic parameters are met.
- Collect samples and test each batch of Dry Department products to ensure all performance and organoleptic parameters are met.
- Place non-conforming product on Hold pending further evaluation.
- Collect samples, test ingredients, and finished products that have been placed on Hold or otherwise do not meet customer or company requirements.
- Release products from each manufacturing department based on compliance to customer and company requirements.
- Notify quality management as soon as possible of observed conditions, ingredients, or products that may not meet food safety, food quality or customer or company requirements. Make suggestions on how to address those concerns.
- Complete all records accurately, legibly and on a timely basis.
- Complete all electronic transactions accurately and on a timely basis.
- Keep the laboratory equipment and environment neat, clean and orderly at all times.
Required Skills:
- Proven Experience working in a Quality role
- 1 to 2 years’ baking experience.
- Ability to use standard laboratory equipment such as refractomer, pH meter, ROTAP.
- Can lift up to 50 lbs.
